Case study 1 - Qualification Reform in the Further Education Sector
We are working with Newham College, the Qualification and Curriculum Authority and Qualification Improvement Agency on the reformation of national qualifications in Further Education.
The QCF is one strand of the UK Vocational Qualifications Reform Programme (UKVQRP). It is part of a 5 pronged approach to improving vocational qualifications in the UK. The 5 strands are as follows:
Strand 1: Sector Qualification Reform
Strand 2: Framework Development
Strand 3: Planning, Funding & Delivery of Provision for Learners
Strand 4: Rationalisation of existing qualifications
Strand 5: Communication
This is the foundation of the organising structure of an improved vocational qualification offer. It will include a broader range of qualifications, than just vocational qualifications, particularly at Entry and Level 1.
CAP Consultancy Services are working with Newham College to ensure that the transition from the National Qualification Framework to the Qualification Credit Framework is as seamless as possible. A series of staff training and support programmes have been designed specifically for Newham to support this process.

Case Study 2 - Quality Assurance through Process Mapping
CAP Consultancy Services are currently project managing the installation of Triaster Mapping software in Newham College.
The purpose of the software tool is to provide fast access to pictorial defined processes and their associated documents, e.g. procedures, presentations, training materials, etc. The College's processes will be interlinked and published to html through the use of this tool. The Mapping Policy is for the use of approved process authors or process owners who will construct their own maps.
CAP Consultancy are managing the technical installation, all information and guidance to users, staff training and all internal and external communications relating to the project.
Software is under development in preparation for an impending OFSTED inspection in Autumn 2008.
